About this Event
Join us for a spectacular evening of stargazing with the TriState Astronomers! Whether you're a seasoned observer or just curious about the night sky, this free event offers a chance to view celestial wonders through high-powered telescopes with expert guidance.
Public star parties are run in an open-house style, meaning guests are welcome to arrive at any time during the event and stay as long as they like. There is no formal lecture beforehand—just hands-on viewing and expert insights as you explore the cosmos at your own pace.
Sunset will occur around 8:00 PM. While the moon and Jupiter will be visible earlier in the evening, the best time to observe fainter deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae will be after 8:30 PM when full darkness sets in. Jupiter will become more prominent as the night progresses, offering a fantastic opportunity to see its bands and moons. Mars will be positioned close to the moon, making it a bit tricky to view but still an exciting challenge for attendees.
Bring your curiosity, questions, and a sense of wonder for an unforgettable night under the stars!
Blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic snacks are highly recommended for comfortable viewing.
