About this Event
Enjoy free admission from noon to 4 pm on the third Sunday of every month! Each monthly Free Arts! Family Days explores a new S.T.E.A.M. themed activity, giving families time to immerse themselves in science, technology, engineering or math while creating some inspired art. All activities are designed to be accessible for young visitors while also engaging the young at heart. Free Arts! Family Days use each monthly focus to encourage creativity and collaboration among families and friends.
ARTIST WORKSHOP

•Knotting: Fiber Art + Found Materials
Mixed Media Fiber Sculptures
Participants will create mixed media fiber sculptures using simple knots and a variety of recycled and found materials. Inspired by the work of Zipporah Camille Thompson, one of the artists featured in the exhibition on view the 2024 Southern Prize & State Fellowships for Visual Arts.
Jennifer Love Gironda studied art at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where she obtained her BFA and MAEd degrees. A National Board-Certified Teacher licensed to teach art in NC and FL, she has taught art at various grade levels, K-12 for over twenty years and currently teaches at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in Hollywood. She has been creating a piece of art every day since January 2012, and in the past few years has focused on fashion illustration. About the Artist
Jennifer Love Gironda a National Board-Certified art teacher with over 20 years of K-12 experience, holds BFA and MAEd degrees from East Carolina University. Currently teaching at Chaminade-Madonna College Prep in Hollywood, she has created daily art since 2012, focusing on fashion illustration and inspiring creativity in all ages.
