I’m Tom Foote, your District Chair (and just another proud volunteer like you). I want to say thank you for your dedication, your kindness, and your commitment to youth. You’re some of the most inspiring people I’ve ever met.
Now that Summer is over, let’s gather for fun, food, and fellowship as we kick start another Scouting Year!
🗓️ Event Details
• What: Majestic Mesas “All Volunteers BBQ”
• Who: All registered volunteers + families — Pack, Troop, Crew, Post, District board members, Den Leaders, Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Advisors, Assistants, Project Chairs (Derbies, Recruitment, Fundraising), and more!
• Where: Sweitzer Lake State Park – Group Site (left side before entrance station)
• When: Saturday, September 13th, starting at 10:00 AM
• Cost: FREE! Just bring a dish to share and register online.
🍔 Food & Fun
• I’ll bring charcoal, hamburgers, and Zweigle’s hot dogs (imported from Rochester, NY — trust me, they’re amazing!)
• We need volunteers to bring:
• 🥖 Buns
• 🧂 Condiments
• 🥤 Drinks (Gatorade, lemonade, etc.)
• Everyone else: bring a dish to share + serving spoons!
🧺 What to Bring
• Cooler, chairs, EZ-up, tableware
• Life jackets, canoes, sunscreen
• Your best Scouting spirit!
🎯 Activities Galore!
• Volleyball 🏐
• Obstacle course 🧗
• Cornhole & Bocce 🎯
• Canoeing 🚣
• Fishing 🎣 (Catch & release only — pinch those barbs!)
• Swimming 🏊
• Slackline & stomp rockets 🚀
• And lots of laughs!
Note: No alcohol. Stay hydrated and safe!

• 9:00 AM – Game setup & canoe unload
• 10:00 AM – Welcome & safety review
• 10:15 AM – Meet & greet, unit shout-outs
• 11:00 AM – Free play, explore, connect
• 12:00 PM – Fire up the grill
• 1:00 PM – Lunch time!
• 2:30 PM – Canoe tour, more games
• 4:00 PM – Light snacks + planning for next year’s district calendar & volunteer nominations
