🚨 THIS INFORMATION SESSION AND PROGRAM ARE FOR BALTIMORE COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY 🚨
Turn your interest in hands-on work into a career.
Through a partnership between the Baltimore County Department of Workforce Development and Living Classrooms Foundation, this FREE 14-week Class C Mechanics Helper Training Program is designed to help adults gain the skills, confidence, and credentials needed to enter today’s mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing workforce.
Participants will receive a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on “shop time,” simulating real work environments and exposing students to production line machinery and industrial systems used by employers. This program is ideal for individuals seeking a fresh start, career advancement, or a pathway into skilled trades.
In addition to technical training, participants will benefit from:
- Industry-aligned curriculum
- Safety certifications valued by employers
- Practical, job-ready skills
- Exposure to career pathways in manufacturing and mechanical trades
⚠️ IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- Baltimore County residents ONLY
- Participants must meet ONE of the following education requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- OR currently working toward a high school diploma with a referral from a GED program, AND score 9.0 or higher on the TABE test in English and Math
- Trainees must achieve and maintain a 6th–8th grade level of competency in English and Math
- Participants may choose to:
- Take the TABE assessment at the end of the information session, OR
- Brush up and take the TABE at a later date
