Rock and Roll has been a driving force in shaping the cultural landscape from its rebellious roots in the 1950s to its explosive influence on movies, TV, and beyond.
In this panel, Dr. Herbert Midgley will take you on a thrilling journey through the history of Rock and Roll, exploring its origins in rhythm and blues, country, and 1950s pop and how it became the soundtrack of a generation, dived into iconic 1950s films like Rock Around the Clock, Don't Knock the Rock, Blackboard Jungle, and , American Graffiti bringing Rock and Roll to the big screen and forever linking it with youth rebellion and cultural change.
But that is not all! Dr. Midgley also examines how Rock and Roll's raw energy and futuristic sounds influenced science fiction, from the psychedelic rock of the '60s to the synth-driven anthems of '80s sci-fi classics.
