Zodiac is a monthly, amateur drag competition held on the first Sunday. There is a $5 cover charge and tips may be accepted by contestants. For dinner reservations, please call ahead to (703) 685-0555 or go to Yelp at https://tinyurl.com/b4m9cnn9 .
The winner gets the zodiac sign for that date. The July winner, for example, would be “Miss Cancer”. In May, all winners from the year compete for the yearly Miss Zodiac title.
Monthly Contest Rules:
1. Contest is open to anyone
interested in competing
regardless of orientation.
2. Must be 21 years of age or
older with valid state issued license.
3. Must arrive by 7:00 pm with
flash drive in hand, dressed, and ready
to perform. perform. No Nudity of any kind will be allowed. There is no dressing space available. No CDs, no phone. MUSIC MUST BE ON FLASH DRIVE.
4. 4.Contestants are required to perform one talent number at the Monthly Zodiac Contests.Music must be on flash drive (no phones, no CDs). Contestants are allowed a total of 5 minutes for their number. The DJ will fade music at the 5 min mark.
5. Winner will receive $50.00
and a spot in the Final Competition.
A total of 12 spots will be up
for grabs during the year.
6. Winners will be allowed to return each month (without compensation) and perform 2 spots at every monthly Zodiac Contest leading up to Zodiac Finals.
7. Contestants are allowed to
collect tips, except at Zodiac Finals.
8. Each monthly Zodiac Winner
will be determined by audience
applause, except for Zodiac
Finals where they will be
judged by 5 judges.
Parking is usually available nearby on the residential side streets.
Metro Directions: Be eco-friendly. Crystal City Metro is the closest Metro stop. When you arrive, go out the station, walk towards your left to 18th Street and then veer right and walk under the Route 1 overpass to Eads St. Turn left and walk to 23rd Street. Turn right.
