About this Event
An Evening of Art & Architecture by “Candlelight”
at the Allegheny HYP Club
619 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
Wednesday, September 18, 5:30–7:30 PM
Step out of the workday and into history. The Allegheny Harvard-Yale-Princeton Club invites you to its library for an intimate “candlelit” exhibition of encaustic wax paintings by Freddie Bainbridge.
This collection explores Pittsburgh’s historic architecture, timeless landscapes, and a few surprise abstracts—all created in molten wax with natural pigments. Each piece layers texture and light in ways that connect art to the very materials of the city.
The evening will open with a tour of the Club’s landmark Georgian-style building, followed by time in the library where art, history, and conversation meet. A full cash bar will be available in the lounge for members and guests to enjoy before and after the show.
This event also marks the launch of a monthly Artist Salon in the library—an ongoing gathering where artists, thinkers, and community voices are invited to share ideas and creativity. Everyone is welcome.
Join us as we begin this new tradition with art, architecture, and lively exchange where we are surrounded by the legacy and conversations that have shaped Pittsburgh's history through the years.
