About this Event

Fred Everything

French Canadian DJ/Producer Fred Everything is a key player in the world of House Music with two and a half decades in the music business and a discography of more than 250 releases to his credit. Born in Hull and raised in Quebec City, Fred caught the bug early for electronic music in high school, working summer jobs washing dishes to buy his first synths. He then formed a few bands while spending his weekends as the youngest kid in local nightclubs. In the early 90s, he started playing live in raves and clubs across Canada. He was then known simply as “Everything,” because of the eclectic nature of his sets, which would include Techno, House, Ambient and even Drum & Bass. A highlight of that period was opening for Sasha at Metropolis in Montreal. Tired of carrying his 909 and 101 around, he started to DJ more actively and changed his name to ‘Fred Everything’. A move to the big city of Montreal was the next obvious thing, where he landed a job at the city’s legendary Inbeat Record Store. It wasn’t too long after, that Fred found himself releasing on some of his favorite labels and touring internationally.

2020 Marks marked a year of milestones as he celebrated 25 years since his first release and 15 years of Lazy Days and showing no signs of stopping. With recent collaboration with House legend Robert Owens to forthcoming releases on Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse, Atjazz Record Company, Yoruba, Lazy Days and a second sample pack for Loopmasters (coming out in February 2021). He’s also been hard at work teaching classes at IO Music Academy in LA as well as doing private mentoring sessions with students all around the world and writing for blogs such as Bolting Bits and Music Is My Sanctuary and UK legendary fanzine FAITH. He recently presented an ambient live show for Mutek in Montreal with his alias All Is Well.

Erik Love

Soundcloud

Erik Love has been passionately rocking funky tunes of all flavors going back to the heady vinyl days of the late 90’s. Growing up in Minneapolis he was exposed to an eclectic music scene comprising everything from funk legends like Prince to hometown punk rock icons like The Replacements. He first experienced the exploding midwest rave scene in the early nineties and was transformed by those underground outdoor open-air & indoor warehouse parties that defined what would become the musical zeitgeist of a generation. But it wasn’t until Erik relocated to San Francisco in 1997 and experienced that now fabled house music scene including Mark Farina, Wicked Crew, Miguel Migs & Rasoul that he was officially bitten by the DJ bug. Moving to Prague in 1999, ostensibly to found a tech startup, he ended up being sucked into the European tech-house music vortex. Erik established numerous Czech house party residencies and quickly joined forces with the UK free-party DJs, Quadrant Sound System. It was there that he cut his teeth playing parties in the deep and then burgeoning tech house music scene. Since then, for 20+ years and running, he’s been captivating crowds with his infunktious blend of groovy beats.

Chuy Fresno

Soundcloud

Don’t let the Stetson and the casual mustachioed smile fool you–he’s the master of the Seven C’s, winner of countless accolades known & unknown and a general all-around DJ wrecking ball known as Chuy Fresno. Nietzsche once said of him: “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby becomes a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” Nobody is quite sure what the hell Nietzsche meant by all that or why he would comment on a lowly disc jockey who would come to prominence nearly 100 years later but one thing is for sure: Chuy Fresno is indeed a monster. He’s the kind of monster that eats your fucking breakfast, sleeps in your sister’s bed, and plays mad hypnotic house beats that haunt your God damn dreams until that uncomfortable period of time just before you realize you need to GO THE FUCK HOME.
