Friday 12th September in Bulawayo at 6pm – part of the Zimbabwe Jazz Festival.
A unique cultural initiative, “Frank Salis Experience – The Zambezi Sessions”, will bring together five outstanding musicians from five different countries this September for a creative residency and concert tour across Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Under the artistic direction of renowned Swiss Hammond organist Frank Salis, the project aims to foster cultural dialogue and regional engagement through the universal language of music.
The ensemble, a vibrant fusion of talents and diverse backgrounds, features:
● Frank Salis (Switzerland) – Hammond Organ
● Alex Wasily (United States) – Trombone
● Max Covini (Italy, based in Zimbabwe) – Drums
● Mr. Chanx (Zambia) – Guitar
● Theresa Muteta (Zimbabwe) – Vocals
This unique collaboration will see the group engage in an intensive artistic residency, culminating in a series of public concerts and workshops designed to inspire and involve local communities and young musicians. The initiative powerfully demonstrates how collaborative musical creation can build bridges and celebrate our shared humanity.
Tour Schedule:
● Friday, 5 September 2025: Lusaka – Zambian Italian Cultural Center, Move on Musica
● Sunday, 7 September 2025: Mutare – Casa de Liquor
● Wednesday, 10 September 2025: Victoria Falls – The Smokehouse at River Brewery
● Friday, 12 September 2025: Bulawayo – Alliance Française of Bulawayo, ZimJazz Festival
● Saturday, 13 September 2025: Harare – Alliance Française of Harare, ZimJazz Festival.

This partnership underscores the project’s commitment to supporting local arts and culture, while creating opportunities for international and regional artists to connect with Zimbabwean audiences.
The project is made possible thanks to the generous support of a consortium of international partners dedicated to artistic exchange and collaboration, including:
