When he becomes engaged to a charming young woman, a dashing rival known as the Sheik tries to win her over by stealing her father’s pocket-watch, pawning it for an extravagant gift, and planting the pawn ticket on the projectionist to frame him. Although the projectionist struggles in reality, he heroically envisions himself as the suave and accomplished detective Sherlock Jr., solving crimes and facing danger with ease, while the girl herself proves to be adept at crime-solving.
