About this Event
Elgar's Enigma Variations is the main work in this concert. Keen on puzzles and codes, Elgar used this interest to weave secrets into this piece, featuring musical portraits of some of his closest friends - one of which is a dog ! The Variations should ensure a home victory in the match, but two pianists will battle it out for the French offering in the delightful Concerto for Two Pianos by Poulenc, with soloists John Gough and Tom Kimmance. France provides a rousing start with Herold's wonderfully boisterous 1831 overture Zampa.
The Tung Auditorium is Liverpool's newest concert hall and their Frohlich Cafe Bar will be open before the concert and during the interval. For information about parking, bus routes and more please visit [email protected]
