About this Event

A core tenet of public health is local community engagement, and ASPPH’s (FTF 2030) report emphasizes the need for academic public health to bolster collaboration with community partners. It advocates for a strategic shift in academic public health roles, urging us to support sustainable partnerships and develop curricula that enhance partnership skills, thereby contributing to a healthier, more equitable world.


Additionally, the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health’s (North Texas) Community Corps concept they are developing ties into FTF 2030’s work, and their 25th anniversary as a school of public health will be celebrated and discussed during the convening.


Along with presenting updated academic public health messaging, ASPPH’s inaugural Academic Public Health Community Outreach Regional Convening, presented jointly with North Texas, on May 8, will help showcase how communities, schools, and local government can work together.
