FRAMING SPACE

This visionary body of work continues to explore Spelman’s interplay of colour, form, and scale. Phil’s vibrant sculptures engage with both natural and defined spaces, reshaping the gallery landscape through their luminosity, depth, and bold silhouettes. Abstract constructions where elements balance, tumble, and float, creating dynamic compositions of positive and negative space. With 35 years of experience, his work has been featured in regional, national, and international exhibitions and collections, examining materiality and spatial relationships.
