At the June monthly meeting, Dr Catherine Noske will explore creative nonfiction as a form, considering the manner in which the representation of reality and the instability of truth as a concept creates imperatives in writing style. It will look at some of the current work emerging in the genre, demonstrating fragmentation as an ethical, poetic and lyrical response to capturing the world as we know it. As part of the workshop, writers will be offered work from others to explore, and the chance to develop new writing in a series of formal exercises. Finally, the workshop will extend to considering how such writing might be presented for publication in journals or competitions. $5 members, $6 non members.
