The FP Arts Short Film Festival was established to foster and celebrate international filmmaking, aiming to create a vibrant film hub in our community. We want people to get excited about cinema again.We host 10 screening events throughout the year, culminating in a grand three-day annual event in May 2025.
Our festival places a significant emphasis on local and international participation, inclusivity, and the discovery of new independent talent. We are committed to supporting visionary films and uniting diverse elements of filmmaking and storytelling, making it a truly global platform for creativity and talent.
What to expect for this event:
The Screening event will consist of people arriving from 6pm allowing them to chat in a cafe/bar for an hour. 7pm doors open. From the short films that have been submitted to the festival from across the world (ranging from 5 to 18 minutes long) the Jury will select eight to be screened. By 9pm the films will have been viewed by the audience and the host will announce the winning film as selected by the Jury. Additionally the audience will also vote for their favourite film and an audience award will be given.
The two winners of the screening events will go on to be nominated at our annual event that will take place from the 9th to the 11th of May 2025.
After the awards there will be time to continue your conversation and have a drink at the Torrance hotel bar.
