The Fox Terrier Club is holding a Nelson / Tasman walk & talk get together for both pedigree smooth & wire fox terriers and their families. This get together this is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get to know other fox terrier enthusiasts in the area. All young, old, smooth or wire pedigree fox terriers are welcome to join us. If you have extended family or there other social dogs in your family feel free to bring them along too. If you are able to bring something towards afternoon tea that would be great but not necessary.
Afterwards we are going to join us at Mike & Marias house at 104 White Road, Hope for light refreshments so our social dogs can run around and play in their fenced yard. For the not so friendly terrier participants there will be a crate/pen in a shaded area so they can chill out while their family enjoys socializing
WEATHER
Unlike wires most smooths don’t like the rain much so if the weather isn't great we will postpone our walk to
Sunday 23rd March 1.00pm weather permitting.
DIRECTIONS
Turn off at Rabbit Island (Redwood Rd) continue over the bridge past the first house on the right, keep going until you come to the toilets & no dogs past this point sign on the left.
Meeting place is across the road from the toilets.
(3.5km from Rabbit Island Turn off)

Come along for a laid-back get together with fellow Fox Terrier fans! Whether your pup is a pedigree smooth or wire, young or old they’re all welcome for a fun walk, a good yarn & some tail wags. Family dogs with good social manners? Bring them too this is a friendly outing for the whole crew.
Afternoon Tea: If you’re keen to bring something to share, that’d be lovely. No pressure though, we’re just happy to see you there.
Let’s celebrate these brilliant little dogs and connect with others who love them just as much.
DIRECTIONS
How to find us on the day: Turn off at Rabbit Island (Redwood Road) and cruise over the bridge. Pass the first house on your right and keep driving until you see the public toilets on the left just before the "No dogs past this point" sign.
We'll be meeting across the road from the toilets, easy as that! It’s about 3.5km from the Rabbit Island turn-off.
WEATHER
Smooth’s aren’t fans of wet weather, once damp they turn into little heat-seeking missiles, unlike the wires who strut through puddles like they own them. If the weather isn't great we will postpone our walk to Sun 9th Nov 1.00pm weather permitting.
TALK
220 Golden Hills Road, Waimea West
After the Walk – Chill out time at Leanne & Steve’s. Once we’ve stretched our legs, everyone’s welcome to swing by their place for light refreshments. It’s the perfect spot for the dogs to let off a bit more steam in their fenced yard where the social pups can run, play, and have a blast together.
