THE FOUR RESERVOIRS ULTRA TRAIL RUNS will return on 19th October 2025 from Shotley Bridge, near Consett, County Durham, and this time, there will also be a NEW 25KM TRAIL RUN! The routes have been meticulously planned to show you the beauty of County Durham with spectacular views along the way.
The 53km circular route starts at Shotley Bridge near Consett in County Durham and takes you along the Derwent Walk and Waskerley Way to Waskerley Reservoir, where you then head over the moors to Smiddy Shaw Reservoir and Hisehope Reservoir. After crossing the moors there is a short stretch on the road through Muggleswick before picking up footpaths of Derwent Gorge and Muggleswick Woods towards Mosswood. You then reach Shotley Bridge, following the footpath along the river towards Ebchester, Blackhall Mill and crossing over at Hamsterley to pick up the Derwent Walk back to the finish.
There will be 3 feed stations and portaloos on the 53km route and 1 on the 25km route..
All finishers will get a Medal, Long-sleeved Top, snacks & drinks.
