About this Event

Racers, get ready: It's time for the annual Four Peaks Brewing Beer Can Derby! This year's event will pit some of the fastest little derby cars this side of the Mississippi against each other on the 8th Street Pub track.

Each starter kit includes everything you'll need to create your racer: wheels, framing, axles, and, of course, empty Four Peaks cans. You can add additional design and weight elements to your car, but you must use the provided wheels and axles and incorporate at least one Four Peaks beer can into the design. (Decor and other elements that make your car unique are highly encouraged.)

It's free to spectate.

All race entries must be purchased online. Race kits can be picked up beginning January 15th at the studio store at Four Peaks 8th Street (1340 E. 8th Street in Tempe). Please save your receipt and show it at the time of pickup to receive your kit.

Box kits include 1 box, 3 cans, 1 derby set, and building instructions. Kit pickup begins Feb. 1.

Registration is from 9:30am-10:30am. Any cars not registered before the start of the 1st race will not be able to compete.

The prizes this year are as follows:

First Place: $75 Four Peaks gift card and 1st place Trophy

Second Place: $50 Four Peaks gift card and 2nd place Trophy

Third Place: $25 Four Peaks gift card and 3rd place Trophy

Best in Show: $10 Four Peaks gift card

Additional Rules & guidelines:

All cars MUST be built with at least (1) Four Peaks Can & contents from Starter Kit.

Must have the original wheels from the given car kit

Max Vehicle Width: 3.75", Height: 8", Length: 10", Weight: 12oz

All cars need to be gravity-driven; no propulsion is allowed.

Once your car is weighed and entered, you can not make additional alterations to your car.

All disputes will be settled by a designated Judge whose ruling WILL BE FINAL.

Any infraction of the above rules will result in Disqualification.

In the rare event of a tie, the race will be done over.

Every racer must purchase a new entry into the 2025 Beer Can Derby. However, cars entered in previous competitions can be used, given they comply with the rules and guidelines for the 2025 Beer Can Derby.

Please be aware of decor that may hinder your propulsion. Ensure your wheels are the correct width and that items don't drag off or break down the track.
