This is a class devoted to the supporting chorus of the ribbon flower you already know (or plan to learn) how to make: the ribbon LEAF. The leaf is vital to the overall look of a ribbon flower creation. Four different leaves will be taught in detail, and more variations will be discussed. In addition, the transformation of a leaf into a calyx with a stem will be taught.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Craft scissors, needles (mid-size millinery needles preferred), pen or pencil, chalk or pins for marking, fray check or similar product, and any type of strong light and dark neutral colored thread. All can be found at Lacis Museum.
INSTRUCTOR: D.L. Popplewell is a milliner and historical costume creator. Her main venue is the annual Dickens Faire, but you might’ve seen her work at the Edwardian Ball, where she’s sold a wide array of historically-inspired accessories (DLP Historical Accessories!)
