Raja Ampat, which literally translates to “Four Kings”, comprises of four main island groups around Birds Head Peninsula of West Papua, Indonesia.Truly one of the last hidden paradises on the planet, secluded far at the corner of Papua – the second biggest island in the world.
Scattered in hundreds of jungle-covered islets, Raja Ampat is known for its beaches and coral reefs, uber-rich with marine life. Raja Ampat is the place where you can enjoy simple life with daily routines. The most beautiful and breath-taking sunset is the natural phenomenon which you can watch every evening.
Life on the islands is deliciously slow and sleepy.
Most islands have no motorized vehicles, just sandy footpaths between the colorful wooden houses. The locals are welcoming and ready to smile all the time. Kids will follow your every single step- they are very curious about foreign travelers.

Day 0 // JUNE 25
Meeting at CGK domestic airport at 20.00hrs for a flight to Sorong at 22.00.
Day 1 // JUNE 26 :: Arrival to Paradise
After arrival, we’ll have a quick breakfast and gear up for island hopping by speedboat! We’ll stop at Selpele Village along the way to our homestay. After settling in, we’ll have a lunch by the sea and rest before exploring our island under the setting sun.
Day 2 // JUNE 27 :: Wayag Islands
We’ll pack up our snorkel masks and fins after breakfast and hop back on the boat to the Wayag Islands. With viewpoints and snorkel spots every which way, we’ll finish our exploration with some shark encounters before returning to our homestay for dinner.
Day 3 // JUNE 28 :: Piaynemo to Manta Point
After check-out, we’ll continue by speedboat to Piaynemo, with mini islands and turquoise waters everywhere we look! Stop at Rufas Island for lunch and a snorkel, then onwards to Arborek and Fam Wall for more undersea viewpoints. We can meet some locals at Arborek Village and be on the lookout for the Manta Ray before reaching our rooms for the night.
Day 4 // JUNE 29 :: Batanta to Friwen
Very early start with breakfast on the boat on the way to Batanta waterfalls and if we’re lucky, catch a view of the Dugong. We’ll check-in to our resort before exploring the jungles and mangroves of the island with some trekking and waterfall swimming along the way. A few more snorkel spots before lunch in Timbul and further on to Yenbuba and Sauwadarek. We’ll finish the day on white sandy beaches in Friwen.
Day 5 // JUNE 30 :: Kalibiru Birdwatching
After breakfast, drive to Kalibiru and switch to long boats with birdsong guiding our way. We’ll start our trail trek and cross over few streams before we reach the blue river in the jungles. Lunch under the palms and move on in search of Red Paradise, one of the rarest birds in the world! Return to resort for dinner and last night in Raja Ampat.
Day 6 // JULY 01 :: Return to Sorong
Breakfast and check-out for journey back to Sorong and transfer to airport for flight home. Bye-bye Papua!
Level of difficulty: Easy. This is a travel to the area with limited facilities, however we will stay in beach resort.
Activities: Chilling, swimming, snorkeling, jungle trekking. Optional diving.
Cost: AED 7800 excl. international flights to Jakarta. Domestic flights included.
Recommended international flights: JUNE 25 EK356 + JULY 02 EK359 at AED 3,025.
Trip ends / starts: Jakarta domestic airport (CGK).
