About this Event
In the lead-up to our 2024 Founder’s Day conference on unlocking the potential of later life, St Patrick’s Mental Health Services (SPMHS) is pleased to host an in-person practical skills-building and information session.
This event is aimed at older adults, and their supporters, who would like to learn more about ways to promote positive mental health in later life and how to access support services. It will share information from various older adult support services about available resources and advocacy for older adults.
The event takes place from 11am to 3pm on Monday, 18 November 2024 in St Patrick’s University Hospital, Dublin 8.
Talks taking place during the day will include topics such as occupational therapy in later life, brain health, and a panel discussion about the importance of social connections. There will also be interactive demonstrations, and the various support organisations and programmes that exist in Ireland for older adults will be explored.
A full event schedule will be published in the coming weeks, with speakers and exhibitors to include:
- the Occupational Therapy Department at SPMHS
- the older adult service at SPMHS
- LGBT Ireland’s Champions Programme
- Friends of the Elderly
- Dublin City Library.
Lunch will be provided at the event.
