About this Event
This series takes us from the very beginning concepts to a deeper understanding of the purpose, meaning and implications Non-Violent Communication has in our lives and in the world. We will practice responding and communicating consciously based on our awareness and connection to needs.
Participants are offered a deeper understanding and experience of this new generation of communication skills. During the training we will establish a clear idea of what NVC is and what it is not. Through exercises, demonstrations, role-plays and more, participants will have first-hand experience practicing skills to bring into their daily lives.
The framework includes the following building blocks:
- Introduction to the transformative power of Needs Awareness
- Needs vs Strategies
- The Relationship Between Moralistic Judgments and Needs
- The Relationship Between Feelings and Needs
- Listening for Needs in others (Empathy)
- Listening for Needs in ourselves (Self-Empathy)
- Creative Conflict Resolution (From Needs to Requests)
- Hearing the "Yes" behind the No
- Needs-based Boundaries
- Needs-based Appreciation vs Praise
- Needs-based Mourning vs Suffering
Transformative and Tangible Outcomes
