Join David for this one day immersive workshop and build a strong foundation for your Ashtanga practice!Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga – it uses a series of poses, linked together by Vinyasa (the movements between poses) and is synchronised with your breath.
Starting your Ashtanga Yoga journey doesn't need to feel intimidating!
This workshop offers a supportive and relaxed space to build the foundations to your practice as well as explore the underlying techniques and concepts. The Asana sequences will include;
Sun Salutation A
The first six standing postures, including wide-legged forward bend
An introduction to the sitting postures of Ashtanga Yoga
The breathing and vinyasa sequence used for these postures
Tips and techniques for taking rest after practice
We will also look at the three different types of Ashtanga Yoga class: led, counted, and assisted “Mysore style” self-practice.
This workshop includes:
Introduction from David with free hot drink in the café
30 min recorded session for at home practice
15 min wellbeing consultation
By the end of the day you will feel familiar with the postures and movements, have an understanding of the key terms and feel confident to attend an Ashtanga Yoga class.
Suitable for anyone with an interest in Ashtanga Yoga! Whether you are at the beginning of your journey or a regular student who wants to deepen their practice.
You will have 1 hour lunch and a short break in the afternoon.
