About this Event
Welcome to the FotoFest Learning Program Summer Camp!
Join the waitlist for a fun-filled summer camp from June 23–27 to explore your passion for photography. Our summer camp is located at 2000 Edwards St and offers hands-on learning experiences for all skill levels: from capturing stunning landscapes to mastering portrait photography.
Summer camp will encompass a cummulative education project spanning a 5-day period. Parents are welcome to view students presentations on the final day!
Inspired by the artist duo Hillerbrand + Magsamen, students will consider materials of play (e.g., cards, dominos) and document collaborative community spaces using oral history recording, archive images, and new photographs.
Students will:
- Visit artists and their neighborhoods to learn about their creative engagement and collaboration with the community
- Gather archival images and new images to document the community and creative collaborations across Houston
- Re-image a deck of playing cards through collage to showcase aspects of play and collaboration within community
- Present their cards and an imagined game
Reserve your spot on the waitlist for the FotoFest Learning Program Summer Camp for an unforgettable summer experience! Waitlisters will be contacted for summer camp registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity for youth to enhance their photography skills and make new friends.
