Explore Ballarat’s architectural heritage with photographer David Bailey. Open to both digital and film photographers, you’ll focus on capturing light, textures and Ballarat’s historic, and sometimes hidden, details.This foto walk will begin and end at 101 Lydiard, 101 Lydiard Street North. It is an accessible activity suitable for beginners and experienced photographers alike.
If you plan to bring a film camera, an Obscura Camera film drop box is available in the Festival Hub.

What to Expect
Approximately 1-2 km of walking.
An accessible route as much as possible.
All levels welcome.
The event will run in light rain (bring appropriate gear).
What to Bring
Camera (film or digital welcome)
If shooting film, bring enough for the duration of the workshop
Comfortable walking shoes
Weather-appropriate clothing, and
Water bottle.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
Develop an intentional approach to photographing architecture and the built environment.
Gain insight into film photography techniques and working with ambient light.
Engage in visual storytelling using cues from the environment.
