Fostering Equality: Addressing Bias in Scottish Child Protection Practices

Senior decision-makers & managers from across Scotland’s Care System are invited to join Project Esperanza for a day of dialogue and learning from the Lived Experience of Black Children & Families and the expertise of Black workers.

Project Esperanza is a Womanist initiative dedicated to bringing race and faith sensitive specialist services & culturally appropriate support to women of African heritage in Edinburgh & beyond.

In partnership with The Promise Partnership Funding, Project Esperanza is now launching a new project which aims to:

• Create a manual of ‘Best Practice’ for working cross-culturally
• Instil cultural fluency and confidence in those working with young people who have both UASC status and Looked After/Leaving Care status across Scotland
• Ensure Scotland’s Care system reflects its increasingly multicultural Care Experienced community
