Get ready to dig deep into excitement at Fossil Mania at the Museum of the Earth, a thrilling celebration of National Fossil Day (which is officially on October 16)! This year, we’re roaring into the early Jurassic era, spotlighting amazing dinosaurs like our very own mascot, Cecil the Coelophysis! We’ll also dive into the fascinating worlds of paleontology and archaeology, exploring how these fields differ and where they intersect.Join us from 10 am to 1 pm for hands-on, interactive tables where you can discover the incredible dinosaurs that once roamed the northeastern US. Learn what paleontologists and archaeologists really do and see how their work shapes our understanding of history.
But that’s not all—this is your chance to take home your very own piece of history! We’ll have a selection of rocks and fossils that have been decommissioned from PRI’s research collections, just waiting for you to give them a new home. Don’t forget to bring your boxes so you can carry as many specimens as you can!
All event activities are included with regular admission.
Don’t miss out on the fossil fun!
