DESCRIPTION:
Do you need to work on your forward paddle stroke technique (and most of us do!), then come along and join Hugh Stewart each Saturday at Bower Road to benefit from his extensive sprint paddling knowledge.
Hugh will guide paddlers through some fitness training concentrating only on forward paddling technique while building some cardiac fitness and speed.
Please feel All Welcome, if you want to improve your forward paddling technique this is a great opportunity.
Hugh’s plan is to meet in the car park near the Aquatic Reserve just off Bower Road. Meet at 8am and be prepared to be On Water at 8.15am.
Hugh recommends YouTube videos below for a few tips on Forward Paddle Stroke technique:

A GoPro camera mounting on your kayak for later review and self-assessment of video is a good way to progressively improve your technique.
There are toilets available at the launching point.
The Red Mill Café (139 Bower Road) serves excellent coffee if you need to refresh after the early morning exercise.
Note that ratios/quotas will apply, depending on the number of Instructors or Leaders on a trip. We may take pictures of the trip and mention your name on our website. If you have any concerns about this, let the trip leader know.
