About this Event
Did you know that Fort Monroe was the only Federal military installation in the Upper South to remain under United States control throughout the American Civil War? It’s strategic location made it a logistical pillar for campaigns, expeditions, supplies, and the medical care for soldiers throughout the war.
Join Josh Ford, a living historian with the 99th New York, Company D, to learn about Freedom’s Fortress during the Civil War, and take a closer look at period artifacts from the museum’s collections, on display for one night only!
Can’t Join in Person? Watch live on the Fort Monroe at Old Point Comfort Facebook Page.
