Thursday, October 2nd, we're back with live forró music and dancing at Dizzy!Forró, a lively and soulful style of music and partner dance from Brazil's Northeast, is rooted in tradition and community. With rhythmic, upbeat melodies driven by the accordion, zabumba (a type of drum), and triangle, forró creates an infectious energy. We will start with a crash course, where you can learn the basic steps of the dance and get ready to join the dancefloor when our special guest band starts playing!
Forroffa en de Xotjes (pronounced "forro-fa and the shot-yes") are a home grown Rotterdam forró band.
They love to play outdoors when the weather allows for it and otherwise they simply bring the sun with them to the dance floor with some original tunes and lots of beautiful classics.
