Collection sites will be available throughout the county for residents to dispose of used tires, electronic waste (computers, television monitors), yard waste, scrap metal and white goods, including discarded appliances. County personnel will be on hand to assist with unloading. This event is sponsored by the Forrest County Board of Supervisors and through a Solid Waste Assistance Grant from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).Collection sites will be at the following locations between 7:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.:
District 1: Dixie Satellite Barn (11 Dixie Barn Rd)
District 2: Glendale Community Center (451 Monroe Rd.)
Rawls Springs Community Center (50 Rawls Rd.)
District 3: Barrontown Satellite Barn (695 Herrington Rd.)
Sunrise Community Soccer Fields (376 Sunrise Rd.)
District 4: McLaurin Satellite Barn (308 Carter Rd.)
District 5: Carnes Community Center (1193 Carnes Rd.)
Brooklyn Satellite Barn (2169 Carnes Rd.)
DO NOT BRING HAZARDOUS WASTE MATERIALS-THESE ITEMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED: Building Construction Materials (treated wood, floor tile, insulation, etc.) , Fiberglass or Asphalt Roofing Shingles, Household or Industrial Chemicals, any solvents or fuel containing gasoline, used motor oil, paint thinner, turpentine, paint or any type of cleaning solutions or chemicals.
