Welcome to our fireside chat on "Forms of Activism for Equality"! On the 7th, in a cosy atmosphere, we will take an in-depth look at different forms of activism for equality. Against the background of the International Women´s Day, we will talk about physical self-determination and will pay special attention to "Female Genital Mutilation" (FGM).

Why FGM, Body & Health in particular should take centre stage is obvious - it is a drastic violation of women's rights, a blatant expression of gender discrimination and a practice that should not be tolerated in a modern, enlightened age.

International Women's Day acts as a global platform to reflect the challenges and achievements of women worldwide. By focussing on issues such as FGM, interventions in the body & diseases, we are given the opportunity to not only draw attention to the injustices, but also explore the various forms of activism that can help end such harmful practices.
