Formative Pruning
It's important to prune fruit trees from young so they develop a good structure and a solid framework of branches.
Come along to this workshop to learn the theory and practical skills required to prune young fruit trees with confidence and competence.
What to bring
If you have them, please bring along a sharp pair of secateurs, loppers, a pruning saw and a pair of rubber grip gardening gloves. If you don't have any of these things, not to worry, we'll provide them.
Remember to wear clothes and footwear appropriate for the weather and mud!
What we'll provide
Tea and coffee.
Participants will each receive a copy of Chloe Ward's excellent pruning guide "for real people with imperfect trees".
Location
The orchard is located on the northern side of Chapel Allerton Park and can be accessed from Gledhow Valley Road.

Accessibility
There are no toilets in the park, the nearest toilets are a five-minute walk away at Toby's Carvery.
Refunds/Cancellation
If you can't make it anymore please let us know as soon as you can. You'll still be able to get a refund if you give us 2 days' notice.
