About this Event
Dive into the slow-burning, immersive world of the Monoscene in this three-week course at the Coalition. Focused on patience and sustained storytelling, you’ll explore how to build a single scene that carries through an entire show. Through exercises and scene work, you’ll sharpen your ability to make deliberate, lasting choices and discover the rewards of long-form, deeply connected improvisation.
Prerequisites: Improv 101 and 201 (or equivalent experience at other theaters). Email [email protected] with questions.
Dates: This class runs Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting November 5th and running for 3 weeks.
Instructor: Kimberly Nario
Kimberly Nario is the Co-Artistic Director at the Coalition Theater. She’s a stand-up and improviser who performs in the monthly show, Can’t Hardly Date. In 2023, she started coaching Still Life, the monthly improvised two-act play. She loves knowing glances, longing looks, and knowing exactly what to say.
