About this Event
In the high Middle Ages, the crown of Aragón built a Mediterranean empire stretching from Spain to Naples. While the kingdom has been forgotten, its legacy remains in the shared culture of those places and no more so than in the wines. From Priorat to Sardinia, to the coasts of Roussillon and Sicily, to the foot of the boot of Italy, the vineyards were coextensive with the kingdom and are full of bold, hearty Mediterranean flavours that recall the warm Southern sun and take off the chill of winter. Grenache is the star here, under the names of Garnatxa and Cannonau, but it is joined by a host of other grapes from well known varieties like Vermentino to local stars like Falanghina and Gaglioppo. With the onset of winter, this is just the sort of Mediterranean holiday we need.
Our instore tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese, and charcuterie are provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
