About this Event
Please join the Oklahoma Survivor's Coalition from April 26th through April 28th at the Tulsa Carson House for the Forget-Me-Not Art Gallery!
The art gallery is a culmination of a month of open calls for Forget-Me-Not flowers. The coalition received numerous art donations to support the , which is a bill that will create a process for domestic violence survivors to receive shorter criminal sentences in court if they are being sentenced for a crime that stems from their abuse.
We will have numerous pieces of art created by incarcerated artists as well as local artists. The theme is a forget-me-not flower, representing survivors of interpersonal violence who are being incarcerated for defending themselves. Along side the gallery there will also be events and activities. On Saturday, there will be meditation in the morning with a local yoga instructor and, later in the day, an opportunity to listen to the actual artists. On the last day of the exhibit, there will be story-sharing in the afternoon.
This event is a great opportunity to connect with the community and show your support. Don't miss out on this meaningful event to help spread awareness!
