About this Event
In this specialty course students will learn both coppersmithing and blacksmithing fundamentals. This course is suitable for both beginners and those with more experience looking to combine steel and copper.
You will be shown the differences between steel and copper, and the various tools used to shape them. You will also learn methods for attaching the two together. Most of class will be spent heating the metals with fire and hammering them to shape.
This course is open to beginners. Past students who have taken our Intro Blacksmithing or Intro Coppersmithing course are welcome to come to this class with their own idea for a small project.
Class runs from 10am-5pm with a 1h lunch. All materials, safety equipment, coffee and tea will be provided. Lunch is available in town / an indoor lunch area with a microwave and fridge is provided on site if you bring your own food. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
