Mick Smith will be hosting a hammer in on May 10th that will focus on forge welding. Mick will walk participants through how to forge weld cable into a billet with and without flux. Participants are required to bring their own forge, fuel, anvil, and hand tools. Pop up tents are recommended if members have them available. The event is free for OABA members, and the fee for non-members is $45 and comes with a 1 year membership with OABA. Included in the course fee is 12" of 1" diameter cable. Participants are welcome to purchase additional pieces of cable for $5 per foot.
Members and non-members who do not wish to participate are also invited to come out to learn and socialize.
