About this Event
Return again to W̱MÍYEŦEN (wh-my-eh-then: place of the deer) Nature Sanctuary (formerly known as Mary Lake) for one of the festival’s annual delights, where the literary salon mingles with a little forest bathing. This event blends fiction, poetry, and memoir with birdcall, creek-song, and tree-sway and welcomes us into a diversity of created texts while we walk the illuminated text of creation.
As host Carla Funk leads the way, we’ll explore the trails and soak in the surroundings and make stops along the way to listen to Marilyn Bowering, Junie Désil, and Christine Lowther read from their most recent works.
Because this event takes place on forest paths, dress for any weather (raincoat, umbrella, extra layers) and the terrain (sturdy shoes with some tread), and be ready for whatever elemental and literary wonders may occur during our wander through the woods.
