FOREST TO FORKCome along for a unique series of foraging workshops! We’ll be exploring the lost tradition of foraging through land-based education, sustainable harvesting practices, and a dash of science. Join Green Feet Ecosystem Services, Medsin Cup, and science-y special guests every other week to learn about the wild foods in our area.
FORAGING WILD RICE
Paddle over to our next workshop as we learn about the science and traditions of wild rice. 🌾 Join Amanda Hutter (Green Feet Ecosystem Services) and Jocelyn Carter (Medsin Cup) for a canoe trip exploring rice beds and traditional foraging methods. BYOCanoe 🛶 if possible, otherwise we can coordinate a spot for you!
This workshop will have limited spots and be by donation (pay what you can). A portion of all proceeds will be going towards the Medsin Cup initiative focussing on teaching about seasonal harvested foods, plant medicines, and Indigenous food sovereignty. Payment is not required for Band Members.
There will be more equipment required for this workshop (especially if you're bringing your own canoe), so be sure to review the form and learn more about what to expect here: https://forms.gle/6HvcKDVMUZnDEA5w8
