About this Event
Step into the forest and see what Indigo is all about
This autumn, weโre so excited to be launching Indigo Forest School with a special Taster Session during half term. This session will run just as our term-time Forest School days will, giving families the perfect chance to experience the magic of child-led learning in nature.
To mark the season, weโre weaving our launch into a Harvest Festival celebration - a time to honour the turning of the year, give thanks for the abundance of autumn, and connect more deeply with the rhythms of nature.
What to expect:
- ๐ฅ Fireside gatherings โ weโll light a campfire, sing songs, share stories, and invite children to help prepare simple seasonal snacks.
- ๐ Nature crafts โ using autumnโs treasures (leaves, conkers, seed pods, and sticks), children can create keepsakes and artwork to take home.
- ๐ Harvest activities โ from apple printing to pumpkin exploration, weโll celebrate the fruits of the season in creative, hands-on ways.
- ๐ฟ Freedom to explore โ children will have time and space to roam, climb, dig, build, and follow their own curiosity in the forest space.
- ๐ค Gentle structure, child-led play โ weโll begin with a welcome circle and end with a fireside reflection, but the day is shaped by the childrenโs own ideas, play, and discoveries.
These sessions are about more than activities, theyโre about slowing down, breathing in the fresh air, and letting children experience the joy of muddy knees, wild imaginations, and the warmth of community.
Parents and carers are invited to join in, relax by the fire, or simply watch their children thrive in the woodland environment.
Come and celebrate with us as Indigo Forest School takes root - we canโt wait to welcome you into the forest.
