Erick Smithe of Cloudwalker Teas will be guiding us through a meditative journey and tea exploration in the practice of Gong Fu Cha. Teas will primarily be from the Yunnan region of South-West China. One notable tea variety from this region is Pu-Erh. Pu-Erh is an ageable, fermented tea. This tea has long been prized as both a health tonic, as well as a meditative aid. We will explore both modern and vintage offerings of this tea variety. Additionally we will explore options such as White Tea, Red Tea and Oolong. Teas will be introduced depending upon which tea resonates best with the flow of the session. We will close the session with a light sound bath, tuning in to the peaceful vibrations of Tibetan & crystal sound bowls.
After our tea session, we welcome you to stay and enjoy the beautiful nature sanctuary which is otherwise closed to the public. Please bring your own lunch, and join one of the guided Spirit of Nature walks through the protected forest. This is a beautiful way to integrate your tea journey in the beauty of nature and learn more about the nature sanctuary.
We're truly honored to be hosting this meditation at the W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary, within the traditional territories of the WSÁNEC Coast Salish Peoples. We recognize the integral role the ancestors of the WSÁNEC Coast Salish Peoples play as past stewards of the Highlands lands.
Please note this property is a conservation area and is closed to the public at all other times to ensure the protection of endangered ecosystems and sensitive riparian areas.
Rules:
- Please stay on marked trails and be mindful not to disturb the wildlife that call the Sanctuary their home.
- Please do not bring any pets. Many birds and animals live here so there is a no pets policy to ensure minimum disturbance.
