Description-Please join Amanda in an informative and fun discussion on the practice of Forest Bathing, or as the Japanese call it, "Shinrin-yoku." Forest Bathing is a wonderful nature practice that's freely offered to us by Mother Earth herself. During this hour, you will be learning about how Forest Bathing came to be from its beginnings in Japan, how it has evolved into a relational type of nature therapy, and learn about its current impact on the world today. We'll be discussing the many benefits that this practice has to offer in regards to our physical and emotional health, our mental state of being, and the social and spiritual aspects of our lives. Amanda will also be sharing ways that you can incorporate more nature elements in your own life for optimal healing and heart-centered living. Amanda Chapman is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Spiritual Life Coach, and Certified Forest Therapy Guide. She considers herself to be a spiritual seeker and mystical thinker in the Appalachian Mountains, her native homeland. Always curious with the intention of living a heart-centered life. She strongly believes that nature brings much needed relief from stress and provides connection for us all. She supports people to rediscover life purpose, reduce stress levels, break free from internal blocks, maintain a healthy mindset, deepen awareness and self-compassion and reconnect to true essence. When not counseling at Shakti in the Mountains, Amanda can often be found deep in a book, journaling, or sitting on her front porch, listening to the birds and watching the deer.
