Join Lisa Murphy from Big Heart Adventures for a slow guided walk through beautiful Para Wirra Conservation Park. The walk will be based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or forest bathing, and will include a series of ‘invitations’ to connect deeply with nature, and an intimate tea ceremony at the end.Shinrin-yoku originated in Japan and grew in popularity in the 1980’s, yet its roots go back centuries. The term loosely translates to ‘forest bath’, meaning to connect with nature and to soak in its beneficial atmosphere. It has recently gained popularity around the world for the multiple benefits it provides for physical and mental wellbeing. Research has shown that walking or sitting in nature will improve memory, reduce high blood pressure, strengthen your immune system and much more.
So take some time out with us to slow down and get to know what nature can do for you!
Meeting place: please note that we will meet at Gawler Environment Centre at 8 Main North Rd Gawler, and travel together to Para Wirra by minibus.
