Why it matters? If you work in HR, you probably know how easy it is to put everyone else’s needs before your own. You’re the one supporting managers, employees, and the business—often holding space for other people’s stress, conflict, or emotions. But who holds space for you?
That constant focus on others comes with a cost: HR professionals, just like people in other helping professions, are among the most vulnerable to burnout. In fact, a 2025 Perceptyx report found that 1 in 4 HR leaders is already burned out, and nearly a third are thinking about leaving the field altogether.
What adds up to the exhaustion factors are the new AI tools and automations which increase the pressures on speed and efficiency. You’re not alone if you sometimes feel emotionally drained, exhausted, or guilty for even wanting to slow down. And that’s exactly why carving out intentional time for your own wellbeing matters.
What is forest bathing?
Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the Japanese practice of gently immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere, mindfully engaging all five senses—sight, sound, smell, touch, and even taste of the fresh air—to reconnect with the present moment and nature.
It’s evidence-based benefits include:
* Significant reductions in stress hormone cortisol and sympathetic (“fight-or-flight”) nervous system activity; increases in parasympathetic (“rest-and-digest”) activation.
* Reduced blood pressure and heart rate, both in short sessions and longer retreats.
* Enhanced immune function—elevated natural killer (NK) cell activity and production of anti-cancer proteins—with effects lasting days to weeks.
* Improved mood, reduced anxiety, rumination, negative affect; strengthened self-compassion and reduced self-criticism.
Group-guided forest bathing adds further benefits:
* Releases the need for control—over time, place, tasks—and shifts focus from work to rich sensory experience in the here and now. Just let someone else hold the space for you this time!
* Fosters relational connection: both with nature and with fellow participants (even if you see each other for the very first time!), reinforcing a sense of belonging and mutual support which improves your wellbeing!
For Whom?
This session is designed for HR professionals who…
** Dread Mondays—even a weekend doesn’t fully restore your energy.
** Struggle to mentally “log out” from work, finding your mind still tied to tasks or obligations.
** Find it hard to meditate though you know how good it is for mental health.
** Feel guilt when putting your own needs first.
** Want to experience forest bathing as a practical, evidence-based tool for restoring wellbeing.
** Love Nature or… don’t have the connection at all.
What to Expect?
Beyond the usual sensory invitations typical of forest bathing, we’ll:
- Enter the forest as a metaphorical space for self-care, exploring beliefs and blocks around nurturing ourselves.
- Practice micro-techniques to regulate your nervous system and ground into bodily sensing.
- Create space for receiving—letting in rest, connection, and replenishment.

Why take this walk with me?
I know the HR world from the inside out. For over 10 years I worked in outsourcing recruitment projects, then spent 5 years as a manager and another year leading a Learning & Development team in close collaboration with HR Business Partners. I’ve seen first-hand how demanding, rewarding, and exhausting this work can be. Beyond my corporate path, I’m also an art therapist, certified in ecotherapy and medical ecology, and a trained forest bathing guide. Most importantly—I’ve been where you might be now: I’ve personally walked through burnout, and I’m currently deepening my practice through training in Therapy for Anxiety and Burnout. This blend of HR experience and therapeutic practice allows me to guide you through the forest not just as a facilitator, but as someone who truly understands both the professional pressures you face and the healing potential of slowing down.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
