Hannibal Parks & Recreation is offering an immersive experience designed to reconnect individuals with nature: a Forest Bathing program. Beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 29 in Riverview Park, participants will have the opportunity to engage in this serene practice that promotes mindfulness, relaxation, and overall well-being, all set against the stunning backdrop of Hannibal’s historic park.Gale Rublee, a nationally certified interpreter guide with more than 25 years of experience in outdoor education, will lead the program. Forest Bathing encourages participants to fully immerse themselves in the forest environment. Rublee said this practice involves leisurely walks through the woods, engaging the senses and fostering a deeper connection with nature. Research shows that forest bathing can reduce stress, enhance mood and improve mental clarity.
Our Forest Bathing program is designed to help individuals slow down and appreciate the beauty around them,” Rublee said. “In today’s fast-paced world, it’s more important than ever to take time for ourselves and find peace in nature.”
