Hun ga nylig ut boka «Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood» (2024), som utforsker hvordan morsrollen har blitt framstilt i kunsten, og hvordan disse bildene har formet vår forståelse av det å være en forelder.
I foredraget får du også innblikk i feministiske kunstnere som har arbeidet for å utfordre de etablerte forventningene til morsrollen. Med sin nye bok gir Judah et friskt og inkluderende perspektiv på en av de mest universelle menneskelige erfaringene - og garanterer at du aldri vil se Madonna på samme måte igjen.

Join an exciting lecture with the renowned curator and writer, Hettie Judah.
She recently released the book “Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood” (2024), which explores how motherhood has been portrayed in art and how these images have shaped our understanding of being a parent.
In this lecture, Hettie Judah explores how images of motherhood from across art history have reinforced the expectations imposed on flesh and blood parents, and how feminist artists have worked to subvert them. By turns thought-provoking, startling and funny, “On Art and Motherhood” takes a fresh, expansive and inclusive look at one of the most universal of human experiences. And guarantees you will never look at the Madonna in quite the same way again.
The lecture is in English and is open to all, but you need a ticket to participate. The number of places is limited. The conference venue is the Auditorium of the National Museum.
