FORCE 09 TRYOUT (14u)When: July 17th and July 24th 5pm-7pm.
Where: Stein Field 160 Maca Drive Tallmadge, OH. 44278.
Force 09 is a travel softball team based around the Tallmadge area. We focus on 4 pillars of:
* Have fun
* Learn the game
* Love the game
* Be competitive
We are moving up to 14u softball starting in August with “Fall Ball”. In 2022, we will play Fall Ball and 1 to 2 pumpkin smashes in the fall. We take a break for the season early October and return back to training the first week in January (we will have a Christmas party and team builder in that time frame).
In the spring of 2023, we will utilize our indoor training facility and work with our team instructors to get prepared for the season. Then for our tournament season we will play:
* 2 tourney’s in April
* 2 tourney’s in May
* 2-3 tourney’s in June
* 2-3 tourney’s in July
* We will schedule scrimmages with other teams throughout the program.
Who we are:
* A softball travel team that believes in balance of the sport and life activities.
* We are looking for a well rounded athlete that has a strong work ethic, drive to win, competitive skill level, great attitude, and willingness to learn.
* Most of our athletes play multiple sports (basketball, volleyball, track). We do not restrict our player to play other sports (but they can only play softball with our team only).
* Our mind set with families is that we only have 2-3 (usually 2) tournaments a month during season for activity balance (striving to having at least 2 weekends off a month). We also take a break from beginning of October to the beginning of January.
* We work with area instructors with batting and pitching. We do not restrict who our players can train with (each instructor/player relationship is different).
* We practice 1-2 days a week depending on activity level to keep sport/life balance.
* We play the best player for every position to make our team successful. Play time and position are not guaranteed, but earned. We also believe that each player that earns the right to play on our team deserves the right to play. If the player is on the bench at all, it will be limited to 1 or 2 innings depending on the situation.
* We strive to find balance for our players and have a well rounded experience to try to prevent player burnout of the sport.
* We plan most of our tournaments with in a 1 hour area of Tallmadge (excluding 1 to 2 overnights). We will schedule showcases in our season.
* We have a home field access at Stein Field in Tallmadge (160 Maca Drive Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 and access to two winter facilities (GTF in Tallmadge and AB Pitching in Akron).
Who we are NOT:
Disclosure: There is nothing wrong with these, they are just not what we are as a team.
* A team that restricts their players from playing other sports or activities (except for other softball teams).
* A team that restricts players from the instructor they choose.
* A team that has a tournament every weekend from April-July with very minimum weekends off.
* A team that trains though the winter with no break.
* A team of individuals, that play for themselves.
* A team that will bench a player a whole game or multiple games in a tournament.
