Come learn to forage in one of the loveliest forests in Florida. Riverbend Park has incredible old oak growth with many edible and medicinal plants. On this walk, you'll learn to identify the leaves of over a dozen edible and medicinal plants, as well as the leaves of trees, including a few wild fruit trees. We'll also show you any toxic plant species we spot, so you increase your knowledge of what to eat and what not to eat!
The trails are mostly shaded, but feel free to wear a hat or sun protection if desired. A pair of good walking shoes and a water bottle are advisable. A list of plants we might spot will be provided. Please bring a pen if you want to take any additional notes. Classes are held rain or shine. Let's get out in the woods and learn new things!
