Foraged! Festive! Fun!Friday 12 December
$10 per person
For children aged 5 – 12
Booking essential: https://oxfordgallery.org.nz/activities/
Time to bring the outside in this holiday season, with a workshop using foraged foliage and flowers to create two fun projects! You will work with local artist Kate McIntyre to utilise the wild and whimsical bounty that early summer has to offer, connecting with the season and our environment.
You’ll learn how to weave a simple wreath and arrange foliage and flowers to bring it to life. Then, things will get a bit lively with the Japanese art of hapa zome, a basic form of eco-printing. Using a hammer, you’ll experiment with transferring the coloured pigments from plant materials onto paper, playing with patterns and adding line and colour to create the perfect cards for your loved ones.
All materials provided.
All Oxford Gallery workshop tutors hold a valid Police Vet Certificate. Caregivers do not have to stay for the workshop but must be contactable by phone.
This workshop is part of 'Got Holidays? Get Art-y!' supported by Creative Communities.
